The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team fell to Lasell 3-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Thursday night in New Haven.

Tonight marked the first match of the season in which the Falcons were shutout as their record drops to 5-4 on the year. Lasell improves to 10-4 overall with the GNAC win.

The Falcons' offensive attack struggled from set number one as they recorded nine kills and 10 hitting errors, while Lasell posted double-digit kills in each set.

Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) led all players with 12 kills on the night as he hit .250 with six errors in 24 attempts.  He added one dig and one solo block.  Raul Rivera Rojas (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) added nine kills in 24 tries as he also had five digs.  Douglas DeSousa (Danbury, Conn.) dished out 22 assists for the Falcons to go along with four digs.

Brendan Charamut (Southington, Conn.) led all players with nine digs.

Lasell was led by Dan Raffol and Ryan Jackson with nine kills apiece, while Andrew Glenn had 28 assists and three digs.  Raffol added nine digs as well as three service aces.

Lasell cruised to a first set victory to open the match led by three kills each from Raffol and Dew Caruso.  The Falcons battled in the second set but couldn't take control of the set despite five kills from Johnson.

Albertus looked to compete in the third but fell short as Lasell ran away with the match by a stellar hitting performance from Julius Rosario.  Rosario connected on five kills in seven attempts.

Albertus will have a week off before jumping back into action due to spring break.  The Falcons will host a GNAC tri-match on Sunday, March 16 as Emerson and Mount Ida come to New Haven for an 11:00 a.m. first-match start time.
