Men's Volleyball Falls to Rivier 3-0

Led by 10 kills from Rivier's Ian Wolski, the Raiders defeated the Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team 3-0 on Tuesday night in Nashua, N.H.

With the win the Raiders' improved to 9-9 on the year, while Albertus drops to 2-7 overall and 1-4 in league action.

Albertus was led by both Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) and Ben Spilka (Redding, Conn.) with three kills apiece, while Eric Woodcox (Burlington, Conn.) dished out seven assists. Johnson led the Falcons with 33 hitting attempts in the contest.

Rivier won the first set of the night by a score of 25-9 before winning the second set 25-8.  In the third and final set was won by Rivier by a score of 25-13. The Falcons' produced a match-high six kills in the final set after the Raiders' jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the frame.

The Raiders' registered double-digit kills in two of the three sets, including a match-high 13 kills in the final frame. They finished the night with a .519 hitting percentage.

Albertus will host Emerson on Thursday night in a 7:00 p.m. league contest.
