Emerson Defeats Albertus 3-0 in Men's Volleyball

The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Emerson College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Thursday night in New Haven.

The Falcons fell by scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-12.

Jackson Wiley led Emerson with 16 kills in 33 tries to tally a .394 hitting percentage.  Jared Gross led his team with 13 digs, while Brendan McGonigle dished out 35 assists.

Emerson improved to 9-7 on the year with the win and 2-4 in league play, while Albertus fell to 2-8 overall and 1-5 in GNAC action.

Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) led the Falcons with 14 kills in 44 tries. He added a team-high 10 digs to go along with one solo block.

Justin Tharau (Burlington, Conn.) dished out 20 assists and tallied nine digs and three service aces.

Matt Stoll (Shelton, Conn.) tallied five digs on the night for the Falcons.

Albertus returns to action on Saturday when the Falcons host Wentworth and Mount Ida in a GNAC tri-match.  The first match is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and will feature Albertus and Wentworth.
