NEW HAVEN, CONN. – Freshman Felix Rivas (Danbury, Conn.) recorded a team-high 13 kills as the Albertus Magnus College men's volleyball team swept Medgar Evers, 3-0, on Thursday evening at "The Nest".
HOW IT HAPPENED
It was all Albertus in the first set as the hosts diominated on offense hitting a combined .467 at the net to take the early 1-0 lead.
Medgar Evers slowly began building momentum in the second as the visitors opened the set with a 10-4 run, but the Falcons would battle back to take the frame, 25-15.
Similar to the last set, both teams kept within arms reach of one another, but the Falcons would slowly come away with the final set, 25-13.
FINAL STATS
- Sophomore Brian Reyes (Danbury, Conn.) finished the matched with a team-high seven service aces as well as collected 10 kills, an assist and six digs.
- At the net, Albertus Magnus hit a combined .260 while Medgar Evers hit -.162.
- Sophomore Alijah McGee (Stratford, Conn.) assisted 26 of the Falcons' 32 kills.
- Senior Christopher Taylor (Bronx, N.Y.) posted a team-high eight digs.
