Men's Cross Country Takes Seventh at GNAC Championship

The Albertus Magnus men's cross country team took seventh place at the 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Cross Country Championship on Saturday afternoon in Standish, Maine.

Kelvin Peyton was the Falcons' first finisher as he placed 37th in a time of 38:36.  Castel Jean-Francois was the next finisher for the Falcons in 39th place in a time of 41:35.  Adam Earl and Luke Dwyer took 40th and 41st place with times of 43:11 and 43:13 as well.  Stephen John was the Falcons' final finisher in 45th place.

Emmanuel College won the championship crown with 49 points, while Saint Joseph's College of Maine took second with 57 points and Norwich took third with 62 points.

Emmanuel's Sean Colford took first place in a winning time of 27:49, while Saint Joseph's Cody Vachon took second at 28:14.  In third place was Adam Sachs from Johnson & Wales (R.I.) in a time of 28:16.

Vachon was named the 2013 GNAC Rookie of the Year as the race's top rookie finisher.

Norwich's Nick Cooper was named the 2013 GNAC Coach of the Year as well.
