Walker Layup Leads Lady Falcons to 82-81 Playoff Victory

Junior center Kendrae Walker (New Haven, CT) made a layup with just 2 seconds remaining in the game as the Albertus Magnus College Women's Basketball Team defeated visiting Suffolk University 82-81.  The Lady Falcons led for most of the game until a late Suffolk University rally gave them a 63-58 lead with under eight minutes left in the game.  The game would then be tied four times the rest of the game.  The Lady Falcons used two clutch free-throws from junior guard Bianca Brown (New Haven, CT) to take the 80-79 lead with 45 seconds remaining.  Suffolk responded with an offensive rebound and layup of their own with under twenty seconds remaining in the game to take the 81-80 lead.  With no timeouts remaining for either team the Lady Falcons got the ball underneath to Walker who made an up and under move that sealed the victory.  The Lady Falcons were led by Brown and her team high 22 points.  Walker had a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds.  Suffolk was led by freshman guard Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, NH) and her team high 14 points.  The Lady Falcons improve to 13-13, 9-4 GNAC while Suffolk finishes their season at 14-12, 7-6 GNAC.  Albertus Magnus travels to Norwich University on Thursday night for the GNAC semifinals with a 7:00 pm tip-off.
