New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Women's Basketball team was defeated by visiting Norwich University 79-59 in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) season opener on Saturday afternoon.  Freshman guard Lindsey Karle (Wallingford, CT/Lyman Hall) led the way for the Falcons scoring a team high 14 points.

Norwich used a late run at the end of the first half to take a 31-24 lead into the break and the Falcons couldn't recover.

Albertus struggled on the boards getting out rebounded 66-28 by Norwich in their first GNAC contest so far this season.

Norwich was led by senior forward Christine Daniels (Concord, NH/Concord) and her 17 points and game high 18 rebounds.  Senior guard Karissa Doyon (Beecher Falls, VT/Canaan Memorial) added a game high 23 points and eight rebounds.
