Falcons Cruise to 107-42 Win over Yeshiva

The Albertus Magnus women's basketball team cruised to a 107-42 non-conference victory over Yeshiva on Saturday night in their first game of the Blue Angel Tip-Off Tournament at the College of New Rochelle. With the win, the Falcons will play CNR on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. for the tournament title.

In tonight's contest, the Falcons scored 44 points on 34 Yeshiva turnovers and shot 45-percent from the floor, including a 36-percent showing from behind the arc. The Falcons shot 43.8-percent from the field in the first half and went into the break with a 50-28 advantage.

Six Falcons scored in double-digits as Lindsay Karle (Wallingford, Conn.) led Albertus with 23 points as she was 50-percent from three-point land and finished the night 9-of-16 from the floor.

Sophomore Annie Sutila (Bridgeport, Conn.) scored 10 points to mark the second-straight game in which she scored 10 or more points. Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) also produced for the Falcons as she tallied 15 points and four steals in the Falcons' victory. Junior Annie Raucci (Milford, Conn.) chipped in with a balanced performance with 10 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals, while she shot 5-of-8 from the field.

Some Falcon newcomers also had great outings on Saturday as freshman Chelsea Sherrod (Bridgeport, Conn.) led the Falcons with 15 boards as she played just 17 minutes. Olivia Sutherland (Wallingford, Conn.) scored 10 points for her first game in double-figuring scoring, while she added seven rebounds and a team-high eight assists. Junior transfer Kelsey Proctor (Guilford, Conn.) also had a stellar outing as she registered 16 points and three steals for the Falcons, while freshman Kelsey Pendagast (Shelton, Conn.) added 13 rebounds in 14 minutes of play.

Albertus held Yeshiva to just 14 points in the second half and took its largest lead of the contest at 65 points with 1:27 left on the clock.

Yeshiva was led by Rebecca Yosher who tallied 19 points and 11 rebounds in 34 minutes of work. Yeshiva shot 25-percent, a 16-of-64 clip from the field, and finished the night 0-of-10 from behind the arc.
