Women’s Basketball Soars to 90-58 Win over Bay Path

Kelsey Pendagast (Shelton, Conn.) recorded eight points and 14 rebounds to go along with a career-high 10 blocked shots as the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team cruised to a 90-58 win over Bay Path College on Saturday.

With the win, Albertus improves to 6-0 on the year, while the Wildcats fall to 2-3.

Pendagast, who recorded eight blocks in the first half, fouled out of the contest just two points shy of a triple-double. Junior Lindsay Karle (Wallingford, Conn.) led all scorers with 26 points as she scored 23 of her 26 points in the first half on 8-of-17 shooting from the floor.

The Falcons opened today's contest with a 19-5 run before the Wildcats got to within seven at 25-18 with 7:25 left in the first half. The Falcons answered back and continued to extend their lead. Their largest lead of the game of 37 points came at the 5:10 mark of the second frame.

Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) scored 16 points for the Falcons in 25 minutes of work as the Falcons shot 44.7% from the floor in the contest. Annie Raucci (Milford, Conn.) added 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists in the victory.

All 11 Albertus players scored in today's contest as the Falcons recorded 31 bench points, led by nine from sophomore Annie Sutila (Bridgeport, Conn.). Nicole Acerra (East Haven, Conn.) added six assists in 18 minutes played.

Bay Path shot 26.6% from the floor, including a 5-of-11 clip from behind the arc, while the Wildcats shot 19-of-29 from the free-throw line.

The Falcons host New England College on Tuesday, Dec. 4 in a 5:00 p.m. contest before heading to Conn College on Dec. 6 for their eighth-straight non-league game.
