Kendrea Walker (New Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Co-Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Walker led the Falcons in back-to-back wins as she averaged 22 points in an average 30 minutes of work on the week. She shot 58.1% from the floor and pulled down an average of 16.5 rebounds per contest. In the Falcons' 73-65 win over Pine Manor, Walker scored 20 points and pulled down 15 rebounds. In the Falcons' come-from-behind 66-60 win at Sage, she paced the Falcons with 24 points and 18 rebounds.
Albertus is now 17-5 on the year and its 17 victories are the most in a single season for the program since the Falcons finished the 2002-03 season with a 17-9 overall record.
The Falcons are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 12 against Simmons College in a 7:00 p.m. GNAC match-up.
