Albertus Magnus women's basketball senior Kendrea Walker (New Haven, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Walker led the Falcons with a career-high 38 points in the Falcons' come-from-behind victory over JWU on Saturday. She bested her previous career-high tally by one point (37). Walker shot 13-of-20 from the floor and hit 12 of her 16 attempts from the free-throw line. With 13 rebounds, she recorded her fifth-straight double-double as well.
In the two previous games on the week, she led the Falcons with 23 points in a loss to Saint Joseph's Maine and tallied 13 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Simmons. On the week, she shot 58% from the field and averaged 14.3 rebounds per contest.
The Falcons open GNAC Tournament play on Tuesday night at Rivier University. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
