Senior Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team has been named the month of January Female Student-Athlete of the Month.

The January honor is her second monthly honor of the academic year as she was tagged as the Female Student-Athlete of the Month of November.

Carrero succeeded both on the court and in the classroom during the month of January.

Carrero earned CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors for Division III District II and is now a candidate for Academic All-America honors.

The senior also became the Albertus Magnus women's basketball program's all-time leading scorer and has over 1,800 career points.  Carrero leads the team and the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with 25.6 points per game and was named the GNAC Player of the Week three times during the month of January.
