A last second three-pointer was off the mark as the Albertus Magnus women's basketball came up short, 66-63, on the road at Norwich University in Northfield, Vt. on Saturday afternoon.

With the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) loss, the Falcons fall to 5-18 on the year and 2-7 in league action.  Norwich improved to 13-10 overall and 4-5 in GNAC play with the home victory.

After the score was tied for the sixth time of the contest at 59 with 2:49 to go, a three-point field goal by Norwich's Kristin Brown with 2:06 on the clock gave the Cadets a three-point lead.  Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) cut the lead to one with two free throws before she connected on two more to give Albertus a one-point lead with 48 seconds to go.

With 25 seconds left on the clock, Erin Clark made a lay-up to give Norwich a 64-63 lead.  In the Falcons' next possession, Carrero was called for an offensive foul with nine seconds to go, which gave the ball back to Norwich while also removing Carrero from the game as it was her fifth foul of the contest.  Donovan Driscoll was fouled right away by the Falcons and hit both free-throw attempts to give Norwich a 66-63 lead.  That lead stood to be the final as Annie Sutila's (Bridgeport, Conn.) three-point shot attempt at the buzzer was off the mark.

Carrero finished the contest with a game-high 30 points on 10-of-27 shooting from the floor. She hit 4-of-7 from behind the arc as well. Annie Raucci (Milford, Conn.) added 12 points and four rebounds, while Sutila tallied also tallied 12 points with four 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

The Falcons held a 28-26 lead at the break as Norwich shot just 39.3% from the floor and was 0-of-8 from behind the arc in the opening frame.  The Falcons' largest lead of the day came with 15:20 on the clock in the first half as they held a 10-point advantage.

Aliah Curry led Norwich with 23 points and six rebounds, while Heather LeBlanc added 16 points and 16 rebounds.  Norwich out-rebounded Albertus 41-29 on the day.

Albertus is scheduled to host the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Tuesday in a GNAC match-up in New Haven.  That contest will begin at 7:00 p.m.
