Senior Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division III Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA). This is the second-straight year in which Carrero has earned this distinguished honor.

Carrero was the first-ever Falcon to earn this prestigious honor after she received the accolade last season.  Both in 2012-13 and in 2013-14, Carrero also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for Division III District 2.

Carrero, who has a 3.89 GPA and is majoring in criminal justice, was also the first Albertus Magnus women's basketball player to earn the All-District Academic honor last season.

The senior currently leads the GNAC with 25.8 points per game as well as a 41.0 shooting percentage from behind the arc. This season, Carrero has scored a team-best 593 points.

On Jan. 8, Carrero scored 22 points en route to becoming the Albertus women's basketball program's all-time leading scorer.  She currently has scored over 1,800 career points while at Albertus.
