Winthrop, Mass. – Senior Rah-Rah Thompson (Bridgeport, Conn.) and freshman Kyah Nowlin (Stamford, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team have been honored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) after leading the Falcons to a 67-58 home victory over in-state rival Mitchell College last Tuesday.

Thompson was named GNAC Player of the Week for the second time this season, while Nowlin was chosen as GNAC Rookie of the Week for the second straight week.

Thompson recorded her sixth double-double of the season in the Falcons only game of the week, putting up a team-high 18 points and 17 rebounds. She was 9-of-18 from the field and also collected three assists.

Nowlin put up eight points and five rebounds in 24 minutes of action in the Falcons' aforementioned nine-point win over the Mariners. She was 3-for-8 from the floor, including 2-of-6 from three-point territory. 

The women's basketball team returns to the hardwood on Friday, Jan. 3 with a road non-conference showdown against Gordon College. Tip-off is set for 5:30PM.
