GNAC RELEASE

WINTHROP, Mass. - For the first time in her career, Albertus Magnus College women's basketball junior guard Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, marking the fifth time in six weeks this season that a Falcon won the weekly award.

Scott led the Falcons last week with 25.0 points per game as the team posted a 1-1 record. The junior guard went 17-for-34 (50.0%) from the field to go along with 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Scott started off the week by scoring a team-high 24 points to go along with three rebounds and four steals in a hard-fought road setback to No. 11 nationally-ranked Springfield on Wednesday. She then racked up a team-leading 26 points (9-14 FG, 1-4 3PT, 7-10 FT) and five assists to lead Albertus to a thrilling 87-86 home win over Mitchell on Saturday.

The Falcons will return from the holiday break on Tuesday, Jan. 3, for a home clash against GNAC foe Colby-Sawyer College. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM inside "The Nest," located within the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.
