WINTHROP, Mass. – Sophomore guard Jakara Murray-Leach (Norwalk, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week for the sixth time this season, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Murray-Leach put together two stellar performances last week in a pair of Albertus wins, averaging 22.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 2.0 assists while shooting 55.9% (19-34 FG, 5-10 3PT, 2-3 FT) overall.
Murray-Leach began the week tallying her ninth double-double of the season behind a 20-point, 15-rebound performance at Elms. She followed that performance by registering 25 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and four steals to guide AMC to a signature 73-68 win over GNAC powerhouse Saint Joseph's of Maine.
The Falcons return to action on Tuesday, January 31st, as the blue-and-white take on the Blue Jays of the University of Saint Joseph (CT) in a conference showdown. Tip-off is slated for 5 PM inside the O'Connell Athletic Center.
