Scott and Murray-Leach Earn D3Hoops.com Region I Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Junior Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) and sophomore Jakara Murray-Leach (Norwalk, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team continued to rack up postseason awards when the duo earned D3Hoops.com Region I accolades on Tuesday afternoon.

Scott earned her first D3hoops.com All-Region honor and was named to the third team for the first time in her career, while Murray-Leach also garnered her first D3Hoosps.com All-Region honor and was named to the second team.

Murray-Leach, who earned her second career All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) First Team nod, concluded her sophomore campaign ranking third in the conference in points per game (18.9) and finished fourth in the conference in rebounds per game (10.0). Murray-Leach's incredible season also included a whopping 15 double-doubles, ranking her 20th in the nation. She also recorded a career-best 73 steals (2.8 spg) to go along with a career-best 42 blocks (1.6 bpg), which was good for fifth in the conference. The sophomore guard was also named GNAC Player of the Week six times this season. 

Scott, a First Team All-GNAC selection, was one of the biggest playmakers in the league averaging 21.4 points per contest while sinking an astounding 556 points on the season, which was good for 11th in the country. Scott was fourth in the conference with 98 assists (3.8 apg) and was tied for seventh with 54 steals (2.1 spg). In addition, Scott tallied 17 games with 20+ points, including a career-high 39 points against Saint Joseph (CT). Scott also picked up one GNAC Player of the Week award after a dominating performance for the Falcons that week.
