NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Jakara Murray-Leach (Norwalk, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week for her performance during the team's 2-0 week in conference play.
Murray-Leach averaged a double-double 18.5 points and 12 rebounds per game while shooting 63 percent (17-for-27) from the field.
During the team's 89-77 win over Dean on January 7th, Murray-Leach scored 20 points on 10-for-15 shooting while grabbing 12 rebounds with three steals and a block.
Against Lasell on January 11th, an 81-65 win, Murray-Leach scored 17 points with 12 rebounds for her second straight double-double.
This season, Murray-Leach has six double-doubles on the season and is averaging 14.6 points and 9.1 rebounds on the season.
It is also the second straight week a member of the Albertus women's basketball team was named Player of the Week as Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) earned the honor last week.
The Falcons, who are currently riding a four-game winning streak, will host Mitchell on Wednesday, January 15th at 5:30 p.m.
