HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Falcons had a balanced scoring attack in the first quarter as all five starters got on the board, taking a 20-15 lead after the first 10 minutes of action. The Falcons jumped out to a 16-3 lead and didn't allow the Blazers to make a field goal until the 5:18 mark of the quarter. Zdru opened the scoring with a three and Scott hit back-to-back threes to close the opening scoring run while Murray-Leach had four points. The Blazers rallied to cut their deficit as Rahmia Johnston scored six points in the final 1:26 of the quarter to make it a five-point game.
  • After the Blazers scored the opening basket of the second quarter, Barrientos hit her first three of the game, and scored a layup on the next possession to put Albertus up, 25-19.
  • The Blazers battled back and closed the gap to 31-29, but the Falcons, similar to the first quarter, went on a 16-3 run to take a commanding 47-32 lead. Zdru scored four of the first six points of the run before the Blazers got a three from Jade Lewis. Zdru hit another three later in the run and Murray-Leach scored the final five points of the run at the 1:25 mark of the quarter. Albertus took a 47-34 lead into the half.
  • White and Lewis exchanged three-pointers to start the second half before a jumper from Scott and a layup from Murray-Leach put Albertus ahead, 54-37 just under two minutes into the third.
  • With the Falcons leading 60-42, a block from Johnson led to a fastbreak and Elizabeth Bruno (Providence, R.I.) found Scott in the corner for a three to move up to the no. 2 spot in the school's all-time scoring list, passing Lianna Carrero (1,905 points). For good measure, Scott hit a three on the next Albertus possession to give the Falcons a 66-42 lead. Isabella Fiorillo scored four points in the quarter as Albertus took a 72-47 lead into the fourth.
  • Barrientos hit three three-pointers and Bruno scored five points just over three minutes into the fourth quarter as the Falcons took a commanding 86-52 lead. Elms would not get closer than 20 points the rest of the way.
