HOW IT HAPPENED

The Knights peppered Albertus goaltender Christmas Johnson (Winnipeg, Manitoba) over the first 14 minutes. Johnson was up to the task, stopping the first six shots of the game before giving up a goal to Phoebe Roberts to put Arcadia up, 1-0.

Albertus would make history with under a minute left in the first as Martin rushed up the ice with the puck past the defense and took a wrist shot past Arcadia goaltender, Hannah Bergeron. Isabella Fedele (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Madeline Sheffield (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) started the rush and were credited with the assist on the goal as the teams were tied 1-1 at the first intermission.

The game remained tied throughout most of the second period until the 18:58 mark of the second when Arcadia's Brookly Hendrickson put in a rebound right in front of the net to put the Knights back up, 2-1 heading into the second intermission.

Arcadia scored two times in the third, on goals from Leah Hatcher and Karahkwenhawe White while on the power play, giving the Knights the 4-1 lead.

A late rally from the Falcons netted the first goal of the year for Walsh as she took a pass from behind the net by Kayla Clark (Avon, Conn.) and stuffed a wraparound shot past Bergeron for the final tally of the game.
