Women’s Ice Hockey Falls to Lebanon Valley

HERSHEY, Pa. - The Albertus Magnus College women's ice hockey team fell to the Flying Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon, 5-2.

The Albertus goal scorers of the evening were Madeline Sheffield (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) and Ariana Martin (Hamden, Conn.).

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons came out to find the first goal in the 3:59 minute mark in the first period. Amber DeJonge (Grand Rapids, Mich.) took the puck behind the net, feeding a pass into Sheffield to score her first career goal. Albertus held the offensive advantage in the first half, outshooting Lebanon Valley by 11-5.

Lebanon Valley came out in the second period with an urgency to score, taking 17 shots compared to the Falcons' six. The Flying Dutchmen scored three goals in the period to stun the Falcons.

Just 1:28 into the third period, the Flying Dutchmen struck again for a three goal advantage over the Falcons. However at the 7:17 minute-mark, A. Martin made her mark for the Falcons when she was able to tap in a deflected shot for her second goal in the last two games.

The Flying Dutchmen tabbed in one last goal at the 9:34 mark to close out the game, 5-2.
