BOXSCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons and the Knights traded 15 shots apiece in the first period, however Neumann held the advantage in shots on target 11-6. Kayla Clark (Avon, Conn.) and Molly Martin (Buffalo, N.Y.)  led the Falcons' offensive threat, each tallying two shots on goal.

With the time dwindling in the first period, the Knights were able to score with only 28 seconds remaining. With the energy on the Knights' side, Neumann scored a second time to stun the Falcons with just 14 seconds until the break.

Despite the Falcons rallying together 17 shots on target in the second period, the Albertus team was unable to score. On the other end, the Knights put together five unanswered goals while three of which were on a power play advantage.

Sawyer opened the doors for the Falcons' first goal of the evening at the 17:09 minute mark of the third period. After receiving a pass from Briony Retasket (Beaverton, Ore.), Gabriella Dellacroce (Woodbridge, Conn.) sent in a far shot to deflect off Sawyer into the net to take one back from Neumann, 7-1.

Albertus wasn't finished scoring just yet, finding the next goal in a similar fashion as the last. Tori Walsh (Marystown, Newfoundland) hunted down the puck to find Maddy Gootjes (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) who sent in a hard hit shot from distance. The puck took a perfect deflection off of Forrest to score her first career goal.

Despite the Knights finding their eighth goal of the game, Sawyer sprung into action to score her second goal of the evening. Lila Whitney (Canton, Conn.) sent in a cross to touch off Kaitlyn Cunningham (Lakeville, Conn.) to Sawyer to beautifully tip it off her stick into the net.
