Women’s Ice Hockey Edged in 1-0 Loss to New England College

HENNIKER, N.H. - The Albertus Magnus College women's ice hockey team fell to the Pilgrims of New England College in a 1-0 road loss this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Albertus team held an offensive advantage with nine shots during the first period. Despite the Falcons holding the Pilgrims to only five shots, NEC broke through at the 18:44 minute mark when Alexis Hornsby scored, assisted by Amy Donnelly.

The Falcons accumulated four penalties in the second period, however the Albertus defense held NEC scoreless. Freshman goaltender Christmas Johnson (Winnipeg, Manitoba) made 11 saves to keep the Falcons in the game.

New England College continued to pursue a second goal in the third period, but was halted by Johnson and the Falcons' defense. NEC took 11 shots, while Albertus had six. Despite both teams attempting to add to their score, the game ended with 1-0 in favor of the Pilgrims.
