NEW HAVEN, Conn. - A night after winning its first game in program history, the Albertus Magnus College women's ice hockey team tied with Rivier, 1-1 on Saturday evening at Ralph Walker Ice Rink.
Maddy Gootjes (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) scored the lone goal for the Falcons at the 12:36 mark of the first period. Rivier scored just over four minutes later on a goal from Rebecca McKelvey.

- Albertus held a 16-10 advantage in shots in the first period and would get on the board as Gootjes was the recipient of a faceoff win and ripped a slapshot over the left shoulder of goaltender, Rachel Hinkley.
- The Raiders tied it at the 16:42 mark as McKelvey found herself all alone on a breakaway after a pass from Brianna Parent and slipped it past Albertus goaltender, Christmas Johnson (Winnipeg, Manitoba).
- Both goaltenders shut the door over the final 45 minutes of the game.

NOTEWORTHY
- The 45 shots on goal tied the most the Falcons had in a game in the season. They also had 45 shots in their lone other tie against Anna Maria on November 3.
- It was the second goal of the season for Gootjes, tying her for second on the team with four other players.
- The teams split the 74 faceoffs, 37-37. Madeline Sheffield (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) won 11 of her 21 faceoffs.
