HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Martin got the Falcons on the board early in the first period after Briony Retasket (Beaverton, Ore.) won a faceoff in the offensive zone that found Martin who took a slap shot to the low left side of Anna Maria goaltender Gabrielle Gibson to make it a 1-0 game.
  • Less than three minutes later, Dellacroce took a feed from Martin and took a slapshot that went between the legs of Gibson to put Albertus up, 2-0 at the 5:06 mark. The goal chased Gibson from the game, as she was replaced by Sam Dahill.
  • Clark got into the scoring action at the 14:31 mark of the first period as she got herself on a breakaway after a pass from Tori Walsh and raced in to shoot the puck over the left shoulder of Dahill to give the Falcons the big 3-0 lead heading into the second period.
  • The Amcats scored once in the second period on the power play as Tessa Henry put them on the board to make it a 3-1 game.
  • After the Falcons went scoreless for over 35 minutes after the hot start, Martin scored her second goal at 10:12 in the third period.
  • The Amcats scored one more time on the power play at the 11:37 mark on a goal from Samantha Rodriguez. However, they were unable to get any more by Albertus goaltender Christmas Johnson (Winnipeg, Manitoba)
