NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Kayla Clark (Avon, Conn.) tied a career-high with three points, but the Albertus Magnus College women's ice hockey's rally fell short in a 4-3 loss to Alvernia on Friday at Ralph Walker Ice Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alvernia took a 3-0 lead in the first period across 11 minutes of action. Julia Franklin scored first at the 4:48 mark to open the scoring. Addy Gularte scored just over four minutes later and Kathryn Plamer added a power-play goal at the 15:09 mark.
- Fifty-three seconds into the second stanza Molly Martin (Buffalo, N.Y.) went coast-to-coast for Albertus' first goal of the contest. Clark intercepted the puck from Alvernia off a failed crossing attempt before sending it to Martin to put the Falcons on the board and make it a 3-1 game.
- Alvernia retalilated with a goal of their from Palmer off the pass from Franklin at 3:47 in the second. Franklin won the faceoff and quickly delivered the puck to Palmer, who connected for the back of the net for the second time in regulation to maintain a 4-1 lead.
- Clark narrowed the deifict to 4-2 thanks to the assist by Tori Walsh (Marystown, Newfoundland) at 6:49 in the second period. Walsh disrupted the Golden Wolves offensive play as the junior passed the puck to Clark near the blueline, who then darted towards the scoring zone for a quick goal to the right of the net.
- With less than two minutes remaining in the period, Clark notched her second goal of the matchup to cut Alvernia's lead to one. Clark dodged defenders to captialize off the short-handed Golden Wolves to narrow Alvernia's lead, 4-3. Shoshana Lofstock (Fair Lawn, N.J.) recorded the assist.
- Falcons played with an empty net in the final 2:50 of regulation as Gabby Delacroce (Woodbridge, Conn.) denied Franklin's shot to keep the game within one.
