NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Molly Martin (Buffalo, N.Y.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's ice hockey team was named a 2024-25 New England Division III All-Star.
Martin becomes the first player in program history to be named an all-star.
This season, Martin led the team in goals with 10 and points with 19. She was tied for the team lead with nine assists. Martin's five power-play goals on the season tied her for the most in the conference and tied her for ninth, nationally.
Martin had a flare for the dramatic this season, scoring three overtime game-winning goals.
In a weekend series against New England College on January 10-11, Martin scored the game-winner with just 35 second left in the extra period in the 2-1 win in the first game. The very next day, Martin scored two goals, including the game-winner 17 seconds into overtime in the 4-3 win over the Pilgrims.
During the team's final regular season game against Salem State on February 15, Martin scored both the game-tying and game-winning goal - both on the power play - in the 3-2 win for the Falcons. The day prior, she scored a shorthanded goal in the team's 2-1 win over Salem State, which clinched a berth in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) tournament.
Earlier this year, Martin was named to the All-NEHC first team.
The New England Hockey Writers Association will host its annual awards reception on Tuesday, April 22 at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Mass.
