The Albertus Magnus women's lacrosse team fell to Saint Joseph's College of Maine 20-3 on Saturday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match-up. The Monks, now 8-1 on the year and 5-0 in league play, extended their win streak to eight games as they remained unbeaten in league action.

Albertus scored the first goal of the day when Jenny Luna (Brentwood, N.Y.) scored off of a Sogona Sacko (New York, N.Y.) pass less than three minutes into the game. For Sacko, it was her first career point, and it was Luna's 19th goal of the season. She finished the game with two goals to stand at a team-best 20 on the year.

Saint Joseph's answered with three consecutive goals within a two-minute span, including a pair of goals from Elizabeth Elcock.  The three goals proved to be the start of an 18-0 run, which ended with a goal by Meghan Williams with 14 minutes to go in the contest.

The Monks saw 11 different players score in the contest, while Elcock led her team with four goals.  Elyse Caiazzo tallied three goals and three assists on the afternoon, while Lizzie Calnan registered two goals and three assists.

Freshman Nikki Kern (Wallingford, Conn.) tallied a goal and an assist with eight draw controls and four groundballs for the Falcons in the loss.

Maria Case (West Haven, Conn.) made 14 stops in goal for the Falcons.

Albertus will host Emmanuel on Saturday at noon in a GNAC match-up in New Haven.
