New Haven, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team fell at home to visiting Daniel Webster, 13-5, on Tuesday evening in non-conference action at Celentano Field. With the setback, the Falcons move to 0-2 on the year, while the Eagles snapped a three-game skid to improve to 1-3.

Senior midfielder Miranda Jassil (North Branford, Conn.) paced the Albertus Magnus attack with three goals, while freshman Aida Sarr (Bronx, N.Y.) and junior Carla Tapia (Bronx, N.Y.) both chipped in one marker apiece for the Falcons. Defensively, freshman Taylor Bisaillon (Columbia, Conn.) caused a game-high four turnovers to go along with three ground balls and three draw contols for the hosts.

Junior attack Madeline Roulier led the charge for Daniel Webster with seven markers and three helpers, while sophomore midfielder Amanda Dargie contributed three goals and two assists. Junior midfielder Christina Hem had a full stat sheet, scoring twice, dishing out an assist, grabbing four ground balls and winning two draw controls.

Between the pipes, AMC freshman goalkeeper Lexie Fenn (Oakville, Conn.) turned aside a career-high 13 shots in a losing effort. On the opposite end, freshman Madison Wood made 12 saves to earn her first collegiate win.

Over the first 13 minutes the two squads went back and forth as Jassil knotted the contest at two with her second tally of the game with 17:16 left in the first half. Following Jassil's strike, the visitors reeled off three straight goals to end the half with a 5-2 edge. During the spurt over the final 16 minutes of the first half, Roulier potted all three Eagle markers.

Daniel Webster scored the first two goals of the second half to take a 7-2 advantage before Albertus netted back-to-back goals to pull within three at 7-4. During the final 20 minutes of action, the Eagles outscored the Falcons, 6-1 to escape with the triumph.

Albertus Magnus returns to action on Thursday, March 24, with a home non-conference clash against in-state rival Mitchell. The Falcons are looking to avenge a 26-17 loss to the Mariners during the 2014 season.
