Women's Lacrosse Weekly Preview: Lasell & Mount Ida

Last Week: The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team went 0-1 last week, losing on the road to Simmons in conference play. The Falcons enter the final week of the regular season 1-10 overall and 0-7 in league contests. In the setback to the Sharks, senior midfielder Miranda Jassil scored a goal and added an assist, while sophomore Jenny Luna netted the other Falcon tally. In the cage, senior Maria Case made 11 saves in her first action this spring between the pipes.

This Week: Albertus Magnus closes out the 2016 regular season with a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) games this week. The Falcons travel to face Lasell in midweek action before hosting Mount Ida on Senior Day over the weekend.

Last Spring Versus the Lasers: Lasell defeated Albertus Magnus, 18-6, in New Haven in the season finale last April. Case and Luna each scored a goal apiece for the Falcons in the setback. The Lasers opened the game on an 8-0 and never looked back.

Last Year Against the Mustangs: Mount Ida scored a 22-2 victory at home versus Albertus Magnus last March. Jassil was one of two goal scorers for the Falcons. The Mustangs opened the contest with eight straight goals and took a 12-1 into halftime. AMC committed 32 turnovers in the game and was just 3-of-18 on clear attempts.

- Albertus Magnus has scored 50 goals this season and 20 in conference play. The squad has won 68 draw controls and scooped 125 ground balls.
- In the cage, freshman Lexie Fenn has made 114 saves to go along with a .389 save percentage this season. Fenn has turned aside 10 or more shots in a game seven times this spring, highlighted by making a season-high 16 saves twice in conference play.
- Freshman Aida Sarr leads the team in goals (16), points (18) and draw controls (13). Jassil had added 12 goals and a team-best three assists for 15 points. In limited action this year, Luna has chipped in 11 goals.
