WINTHROP, Mass. – Following outstanding debut seasons, Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse sophomore midfielder Alexandra Barrett (Northford, Conn.) and freshman goalie Chloe Oliver (Milford, Conn.) both received 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team recognition, as announced Monday afternoon.
In her first season donning the blue-and-white, Barrett garnered Third Team accolades after pacing the Falcons with 16 assists while being second on the squad with 44 points and 28 goals. In addition to her offensive exploits, the Northford, Conn., native also led Albertus with 59 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers. Her 3.69 ground balls and 1.94 caused turnovers per game, both ranked seventh in the conference. Barrett's season was highlighted by her 10-point game (5g, 5a) in AMC's 20-9 road victory over Mitchell College on April 21.
Oliver earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team after being one of the strongest keepers in the GNAC all season. The Milford, Conn., native finished the year as the national leader in saves (249) and saves per game (15.56). Despite facing constant pressure throughout the season, Oliver still ranked third in the league with a 52.8 save percentage and ninth with a 13.94 goals-against average. She tallied six games with 18-plus saves, including a season-high 26 against Emmanuel (Mass.) College.
Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) represented the Falcons on the 2022 GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team. Riccio started all 16 games for Albertus, ranking second on the team in assists (12), and third in both points (32) and goals (20). Riccio was a key component of AMC's thrilling win over intrastate rival University of Saint Joseph (CT), as she tallied the game's final two goals to clinch a 10-9 Albertus victory.
