Women's Lacrosse Selected 14th in Preseason Coaches' Poll
WINTHROP, Mass. - The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team has been selected to finish 14th in the 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
 
Albertus concluded last season with a 3-13 overall record, including wins over Purchase College, Mitchell College, and University of Saint Joseph (CT), and a 1-12 mark in conference play. In this year's rankings, the Falcons secured 18 points to place them in 14th.
 
Saint Joseph's College of Maine took the top position in the rankings, with 193 points and 12 of the possible 14 first-place votes. The Sharks of Simmons University were close behind with 176 points and a first-place vote. Johnson and Wales University rounded out the top three with 174 points and the last remaining first-place nod. 
 
Emmanuel (Mass.) College, Norwich University, Colby-Sawyer College, and Lasell University took the middle slots with 149 points, 135 points, 133 points, and 107 points, respectively.
 
In the lower third of the rankings, Saint Joseph (CT) took home eighth place with 91 points, while Elms College followed with 88 points. Rivier University slotted in at 10th place with 60 points, while Regis (Mass.) College claimed 11th with 58 points. 
 
Finally, Dean College and Anna Maria College took the 12th and 13th spots in the rankings with 52 and 36 points, respectively.
