NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team lost its opening game of the season to Wells College, 21-2 on Sunday afternoon at Celentano Field.
Moira O'Brien (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Amber DeJonge (Grand Rapids, Mich.) scored a goal each for the Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was scoreless for the first three minutes, but a goal from Logan Lomonaco of Wells at 11:40 started a stretch of five goals from the Express over a 3:17 stretch. The Express ended the period leading 9-0 as Julia Barnwell had a hat trick in the quarter with an assist. Lomonaco scored twice in the quarter as well.
- Wells scored six more goals in the second as Barnwell scored two more goals and the Express got two goals from Hannah Lamont.
- Albertus was able to curb the scoring in the third period, allowing just two goals, both by Jade Epp.
- The Falcons finally got on the board at the 4:23 mark as O'Brien beat two defenders for her first goal of the season and her career. After another goal from Lamont, DeJonge scored her first goal of the season on a free position shot for the final tally of the game.
