NEW HAVEN, Conn. — For her first time between the pipes for the Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team, Jamily Carter (New Britain, Conn.) denied 12 shots by the visiting Dean College Bulldogs in the 16-3 Great Northeast Athletic Conference loss on Tuesday at Celentano Field.
A trio of Falcons connected for the net as Samantha Helwig (Northford, Conn.) led off the scoring for Albertus and took advantage of the short-handed Bulldogs to start the second quarter.

FINAL: Dean 6 | Albertus Magnus 3
RECORDS: Albertus Magnus (1-9, 1-4 GNAC) | Dean (2-7, 1-4 GNAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dean ignited the first quarter with eight unanswered goals and Carter sent away three attempts.
- Helwig had a close chance to put the Falcons on the board with one minute remaining in the opening period, but the shot landed on the inner corner of the right post before ricocheting away from the net.
- To open the second quarter, Dean drew a yellow card to send Albertus to the arc for a free position shot attempt by Helwig to take advantage of the player-up opportunity.
- Sixteen seconds later, Amber DeJonge (Grand Rapids, Mich.) netted the host's second goal of the night to narrow the deficit to six after the junior secured the draw control and scooped up the ground ball following the Falcons' previous tally.
- The Bulldogs racked up seven more scores across the second and third periods before Briony Retasket (Beaverton, Ore.) capitalized on the Dean foul and netted the home team's second free-position goal.
