HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Cyclones notched six unanswered goals in the opening quarter with two each by Trista Hough and Pauline Mrad.
  • Centenary (N.J.) padded their lead by three before Schlectweg put the Falcons on the board at 5:03 in the second period. Emma Fallon (Harwinton, Conn.) forced a turnover at midfield, which allowed Signor to scoop the ground ball and drive to the net before the quick pass to Schlechtweg for the goal.
  • After pressure from the Cyclone defenders, Helwig managed to escape for the side pass to Signor, who split three defenders for the over-the-shoulder goal at 9:36 in the third period.
  • Three more goals by Centenary (N.J.) extended the lead to 14-2, but a wild pass allowed Schlechtweg to collect the ball for the pass to Helwig in front of the crease for the Falcons' third goal of the game at 1:58.
  • The visitors connected for four more goals in the final quarter but a caused turnover, groundball and assist by DeJonge set up Helwig's second goal of the game.
