HOW IT HAPPENED
- At 10:27 of the first quarter, the Pilgrims scored first as Carmela Goodwin put the visitors up, 1-0, off the pass from Mary High.
- Less than two minutes later, NEC netted a second goal of the quarter for the 2-0 lead, but a clean shot on goal by Retasket narrowed the Falcons deficit by one with 1:47 remaining. A costly turnover by NEC led to Retasket charging down the field with nobody unable to stop her from scoring the first goal for the Falcons, 2-1.
- With just seconds left on the clock, the 'Grims were able to get one more shot off to put NEC out in front by two, 3-1.
- Albertus managed to retaliate rather quickly at the start of the second quarter only needing 16 seconds to get their offense going once again. Schlechtweg won the draw control and advanced the Falcons possession into NEC's defensive territory and located Signor who would be in a position to score the second goal of the game for the hosts, 3-2.
- NEC took the 6-2 lead going into halftime after goals from Annalisa Crooks, Goodwin and Mackenzie McDonald.
- NEC continued to have the advantage in the third period with eight unanswered goals, including a player-up goal at 14:11 by Lucy Armour.
- The visitors padded their lead with three more goals before DeJonge scored the third goal for the Falcons off another Schlechtweg assist. The first-year won the draw before driving towards the scoring circle for a side pass to DeJonge after her path was blocked by Pilgrims at 8:10 in the fourth.
- With 4:47 left in regulation, NEC scored again for the 18-3 conference win.
