New Haven, CT - On Saturday afternoon, the Albertus Magnus College women’s soccer team dropped it’s first Great Northeast Athletic Conference game of the season by a score of 2-1. The Lady Falcons struck first on sophomore Krystal Quinones’s (Bridgeport, CT) goal from junior Samantha Gigliotti (Wilton, CT) in the 15th minute of the opening period. The Monks of St. Joe’s then responded in the 29th minute off the leg of senior Brianna Jordan (Scarborough, ME) to tie it at 1-1 going into halftime. Brianna Jordan found the back of the net again in the 63rd minute from junior Mikayla Call (Portland, ME) to score the eventual game winner. The Lady Falcons had a few scoring chances late, particularly in the 82nd minute when sophomore Sarah Boudreau (Pascoag, RI) drilled the cross bar, narrowly missing a goal. The Lady Falcons drop to 2-1-0, 0-1-0 GNAC this season and play host to GNAC opponent St. Joe’s (CT) on Wednesday at 3:30pm. St. Joe’s (ME) improves to 1-0-1, 1-0-1 GNAC this season.
