Standish, ME - The Albertus Magnus College Women's Soccer team was upended by Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent St. Joseph's College (ME) 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons could not find the back of the net as they outshot their opponents 11-8 during the match.
The Falcons found themselves down 1-0 at halftime despite outshooting their opponents 7-3 in the first half. St. Joe's (ME) freshman forward Lauren Chouinard (Gorham, ME/Gorham) finished a pass from freshman forward Ashley Beaulieu (Durham, ME/Lisbon) in the 32nd minute to give St. Joe's the 1-0 lead going into the half.
The score would remain 1-0 until the 72nd minute when senior forward Mikayla Call (Portland, ME/Catherine McAuley) scored an unassisted goal for the eventual 2-0 final score.
Albertus concludes the regular season with a record of 10-7-1, 7-4-1 GNAC while St. Joe's (ME) improves to 7-7-1, 5-5-1 GNAC. The Falcons start their post season run next Sunday on the road against an opponent yet to be determined.
