Trinity College scored five second-half goals en route to a 6-1 victory over the Albertus Magnus women's soccer team on Thursday afternoon in non-conference action in New Haven.

With today's loss the Falcons finish the regular season with an 11-5-2 overall record, while Trinity improves to 5-8-1 on the year. It was the Bantams first win in six matches.

Trinity took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break as Maggie Crowe scored her first goal of the season in the fourth minute of play. With the Bantams' first corner kick of the afternoon, Elisa Dolan sent the ball into the box where Crowe was there to head it into the back of the net.

A goal by Shelley Mirmina (Milford, Conn.) in the 53rd minute tied the contest at one as Mirmina beat the Trinity goal keeper to the ball on a long pass from senior Kelly Marchitto (West Haven, Conn.). For the junior, it was her team-leading eighth goal of the year.

After the Falcons tied the contest at one, the Bantams scored five-straight goals to finish with a 6-1 advantage. Alexa Menard and Karyn Barrett both tallied two goals apiece in the second frame, while Dolan added her fourth goal of the year.

Menard tallied the eventual game-winning goal in the 55th minute as she received the ball from Dolan and went one-on-one with the keeper in the box to score her third goal of the year.

Marchitto and Mirmina both tallied a team-high four shots as Mirmina put three of those shots on goal. Albertus was outshot 29-16 on the afternoon.

Christina Dineson (Milford, Conn.) made six stops in net and allowed one goal in 45 minutes of work, while freshman keeper Maria Case (West Haven, Conn.) played the final 45 minutes and allowed five goals, while recording four saves.

Trinity's Monica DiFiori allowed one goal in 90 minutes as she made four stops for the Bantams.

Dolan finished the match with four points for Trinity, while Menard tallied five.

Albertus will return to the pitch on Sunday, Oct. 28 when the Falcons travel to Boston, Mass. to take on Simmons College in the GNAC Tournament quarterfinals. That contest is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
