Amanda Roke (Cheshire, Conn.) scored the game-winning goal in the 76th minute to lift the Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Bard College on Sunday afternoon.

Roke, who scored her 19th career goal with the game winner, added an assist on the first goal of the game as she played the ball to the left foot of senior Shelley Mirmina (Milford, Conn.) who gave Albertus a first-half 1-0 lead in the 38th minute of play.

Bard tied the game at one in the second half as Syliva Kool scored her first goal of the season.  Kool forced a turnover and dribbled through two defenders to score Bard's first goal of the season.

The game-winning goal came in the 76th minute of play when Meaghan Skidmore (Terryville, Conn.) hit a cross to Roke, who trapped the ball and quickly volleyed a shot over Bard's second-half keeper Lily Harris.

Albertus goalkeeper Maria Case (West Haven, Conn.) registered six saves on the afternoon, while Bard's Kelsey O'Brien, who started in net, had three.  Harris took the loss in the contest as she allowed the winning goal and did not record a save.

Bard outshot the Falcons 17-10 in the contest, including a 10-5 clip in the second half.

Albertus returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 4 when the Falcons travel to Bay Path for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
