The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team won their third straight match in a 3-1 victory over visiting non-conference opponent Mitchell College.  Sophomore forward Kaitlyn Fedumenti (Stratford, Conn.) lead the way with two goals in the first half to pace the Falcon offense.

Junior forward Acacia Nelson (Bridgeport, Conn.) opened the scoring in the 12th minute finishing a pass from senior forward Becky Slivinsky (Plainville, Conn.) to give the Falcons the 1-0 lead.

Following a Mitchell foul in the 21st minute, Fedumenti blasted her free kick over the wall in the upper 90 for the 2-0 advantage.  Just before the half, Fedumenti would score on a beautiful feed from freshman defender Shannon Murphy (Hamden, Conn.) to give Albertus the 3-0 lead going into halftime.

Mitchell would score their only goal just three minutes into the second half when senior midfielder Alexandra Charles (Massapequa, N.Y.) found the back of the net to cut the lead to 3-1.

Albertus held a dominating 30-2 shot advantage as well as a 3-1 edge on corner kicks in the game.  Junior goal keeper Ryan Clark (Milford, Conn.) picked up her first win of the season making one save in the contest.

The Falcons improve to 4-3, 1-0 GNAC while Mitchell College drops to 0-5, 0-0 NECC on the season.  Albertus returns to action on Saturday for an important Great Northeast Athletic Conference match against host University of St. Joseph's in West Hartford for a 1:00 p.m. kick-off.
