Polvan Earns All-New England Region Honors

Albertus Magnus women's soccer sophomore Danielle Polvan (East Haven, Conn.) has earned NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-New England Region honors as announced by the NSCAA on Wednesday. She was named to the Third Team.

This is the third-straight year that the Falcons have had a member of their team earn this prestigious recognition.

Polvan was named to the 2014 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) First Team as well after leading the Falcons with 25 points to go along with a team-high 11 goals.

After scoring two goals, including the game winner, in the Falcons' GNAC Tournament quarterfinal double-overtime victory, Polvan was named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team.

She also tallied four game-winning goals on the year.  Additionally, in 2013, she was tagged as a Third Team GNAC All-Conference selection.

Polvan was just one of three players selected from the GNAC as Lasell's Bridget and Kayla Lynch earned spots on the First and Second Teams, respectively.

Last season, the Falcons had two players earn regional honors as Shannon Skidmore was tagged as a First Team member, the first-ever Albertus women's soccer player to earn that recognition, while Shelley Mirmina earned Second Team honors.  In 2012, Sam Farley became the first women's soccer player to receive the All-New England acknowledgement as she was a Third Team selection.
