Women's Soccer Earns 4th Seed in GNAC Tournament

The 2014 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Soccer Tournament, slated to begin on Nov. 2, will feature the Albertus Magnus women’s soccer team as the fourth seed.  The Falcons are scheduled to host fifth-seeded University of Saint Joseph on Sunday at Celentano Field in New Haven.

The Falcons are heading into the postseason league tournament for the sixth-straight year, while their fourth seed marks the fifth-straight year in which the Falcons have finished in the top-five of the GNAC standings.

Led by sophomore Danielle Polvan (East Haven, Conn.), the Falcons head into the postseason with an overall record of 10-7-1.  Polvan leads Albertus with 21 points on nine goals and three assists.

Sunday will mark the first time the Falcons will take on the Blue Jays in GNAC Tournament play. Albertus is 1-6-1 all-time in the tournament, while the Falcons are 1-1-1 on their home field.
