Hartford, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus women's soccer team fell on the road, 5-0, to Trinity College on Thursday afternoon in non-conference action at Campus Field. With the loss, the Falcons moved to 2-4-2 on the year, while the Bantams improved to 4-1 overall with their third straight victory.

Four players found the back of the net for the hosts en route to the triumph, highlighted by a pair of tallies from freshman Taylor Kirchgessner. Albertus Magnus senior goalkeeper Maria Case (West Haven, Conn.) was swarmed with shots all afternoon and played well in defeat for the visitors.

Trinity opened the scoring on Kirchgessner's first goal of the tilt less than two minutes into the first half. The Bantams quickly built their lead to three as juniors Andi Nicholson and Laura Nee also potted markers in the first 15 minutes of match. Trinity controlled possession for the majority of the first half, tallying nine shots to the Falcons' one. Later in the opening stanza, senior Kelsey Thomas netted her first goal of the season at the 33 minute mark to give Trinity a 4-0 advantage heading into the half.

The second half went scoreless for 15 minutes until Kirchgessner scored her second goal of the game to give Trinity a 5-0 advantage. Albertus Magnus was unable to get anything going offensively as the Trinity defense held strong all afternoon, holding the Falcons to just three shots all game.

Between the pipes, Trinity senior goalkeeper Monica DiFiori recorded her third shutout of the year, while Case turned aside five shots for the Falcons.

Three different Falcons registered shots in the game. Albertus took three corners compared to just two for the hosts. The physical contest saw 15 fouls called.

Albertus returns to action this Saturday, September 29 with a road conference clash versus Rivier at 2:30.
