WINTHROP, Mass. – Following a pair of outstanding starts last week, Albertus Magnus College women's soccer freshman goalie Amy Stevens (Lincoln, R.I.) earned both Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week honors, as announced Monday afternoon.

Stevens made 18 saves this past week, finishing with a 1-1-0 record, one goal allowed, and a .947 save percentage over 180 minutes. The freshman started the week by making seven stops in a hard-fought 1-0 setback to Rutgers University-Newark on Wednesday evening in non-league play. Then, Stevens was a wall in net against Colby-Sawyer on Saturday, leading the Falcons to a 2-0 road win after making a season-best 11 saves for her second shutout of the year.

The women's soccer team next has a key GNAC matchup against the Lasers of Lasell University on Wednesday, Sept. 21. The home bout is slated to start at 7 p.m. at Celentano Field.
