Jainchill's Late Goal Lifts Women's Soccer to 1-1 Draw at Elms

CHICOPEE, Mass. - A Victoria Jainchill (Simsbury, Conn.) goal in the 83rd minute helped the Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team earn a road 1-1 draw against Elms College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Falcons tallied the game's first chance, as Erina Ismaili (Middlebury, Conn.) hit the crossbar with a shot in the 12th minute.
• Unfortunately for Albertus, the Blazers took the first lead of the contest in the 38th minute, when Ciersten Palumbo streaked down the sideline before sending an arching shot over the AMC keeper to give Elms a 1-0 advantage.
• The Falcons came out firing to start the second half, with Albertus tallying two corner kicks and a pair of shots over the first 10 minutes of the frame.
• AMC's offensive persistence paid off in the 83rd minute when Jainchill knotted the game at 1-1 with her second goal of the season.
• Jainchill turned on the ball from just outside the box and chipped a shot into the bottom of the crossbar that bounced into the back of the net.
• After tying the score, the Falcons pushed hard to earn the win, rattling off a pair of shots over the final seven minutes that were saved.
• Without either team finding a goal over the last seven minutes, the Falcons and Blazers settled for a 1-1 conference tie.
