Andrews Becomes First Women's Soccer Player to Earn Second All-Region Nod

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After an outstanding graduate campaign for the Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team, midfielder Haley Andrews (Prospect, Conn.) was named to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's All-Region I Second Team.

"Haley will turn out to be not only an all-time women's soccer player but one of the best student-athletes ever to put on the Blue-and-White here," said head coach Nick Wajnowski. "From the minute she got here, she stepped on the field with a presence, and she carried that with her every single day. We are a better program because of her. Thank you, Haley, for giving this team every ounce you had and reigniting this program."

Andrews is the sixth player in program history to earn All-Region distinction and the first ever to earn this honor twice in their career. Andrews also joins program standouts Angelina Piccirillo, Danielle Polvan, Shelley Mirmina, Shannon Skidmore, and Samantha Farley to earn All-Region honors.

Andrews, a 2022 First Team All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) forward, led the Falcons in goals (9), assists (5), and points (23). She took 40 shots in 2022 while recording a 3-for-4 mark in penalty kicks, ranking her first in the conference. Andrews also had a break-out second half of the season that saw her post three multi-goal matches, with a hat trick and an assist in a 4-0 victory over Rivier University and a pair of two-goal contests against both Norwich University and Johnson & Wales (R.I.) University. The Prospect, Conn. native ended the season ranking in the top 10 in the conference in goals and assists, while finishing 12th in points.

After another outstanding season, Andrews climbed to the top of most of Albertus' all-time leaderboards. The Prospect, Conn., native is now the program's all-time leader with 96 points and 39 goals in her storied career. Andrews ended her tenure tie for second in assists with 18.
