Riccio Earns Academic All-America Honors from College Sports Communicators

CSC RELEASE

AUSTIN, Texas – In recognition of outstanding work on the field and the classroom, Albertus Magnus College women's soccer senior Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) was tabbed the first Academic All-American in program history and the third in AMC history, as she was named to the 2022 NCAA Division III Academic All-America Women's Soccer Third Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

On the pitch, Riccio started all 19 games for the Falcons and finished tied for the team lead with five assists. He also ended the year third in the team with 11 points (3g, 5a), all while being a vital member of the team's backline. Riccio and the Falcons' defense ranked fifth in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with a 1.21 goals-against average.

In the classroom, Riccio maintained an impressive 3.99 cumulative grade-point average as a Psychology major. She has earned GNAC All-Academic Team honors twice and Dean's List accolades in her academic career. Riccio is a member of Albertus' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Student Government Association, and Student Alumni Association.

Riccio was named one of just 36 All-Americans, rising to the top of the 978 Division III women's soccer players that made the All-District Teams. She was also the lone representative from the GNAC.

As a team, the Falcons posted a 9-6-4 overall record and a 6-4-3 mark in the GNAC. No. 6-seeded Albertus upset No. 3 Emmanuel (Mass.) College in the GNAC Quarterfinals before falling in the Semifinals at No. 2 Lasell University.
