BOSTON, Mass. - Goals from Addie Lamond (Bethlehem, Conn.) and Erina Ismaili (Middlebury, Conn.) gave the Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team a 2-1 win over Simmons University in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tilt.
Lamond's goal was the first of her career.
The Falcons are 4-1-1 in their first six games of the season, matching the program's best start since the 2013 season. For Coach Nick Wajnowski and associate head coach John Adams, it was their 150th career win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-
After dominating possession with two shots on goal early in the second half and a missed penalty kick, the Falcons got on the board in the 32nd minute. Ismaili took a pass from Ejalam Bravo (New Britain, Conn.) that deflected off a Simmons defender at the top of the box and ripped a strike past goalkeeper Mikaela Marie Javar to give Albertus the 1-0 lead.
-
Albertus continued to keep control for the majority of the second half and doubled its lead in the 77th minute when a free kick from Lamond about 40 yards out near the Albertus bench was drilled over the head of a leaping Javar as the Falcons took a 2-0 lead.
-
Simmons battled back to cut its deficit in half as a corner kick bounced its way to the top of the box and Cerys Balmer put it in the back of the net, making it a 2-1 game.
